As a Primary Care Provider I would have NO problem with a patient seeing their specialists and following up with me as needed. As long as I am not the one prescribing the meds ( and potentially causing more problems ) then there is no need for me to see them until their preventive visit is due. I always wonder about providers who request patients to follow up for really no reason. It is a good revenue producer but it is not good medicine. Co-pays can add up. And I hope you do not feel bad about saying "no".
