I don't think the disorder becomes less severe with age, in of itself. We face different challenges when we are older compared to when young. So, every person will have a different experience. In my case, I'm being affected more by bpd as I get older because it is more and more difficult to find employment when you get older. Nobody wants to hire someone approaching 50 who has an employment history full of holes. I've been fired from nearly every job I've ever had, and that number is so large i'm embarrassed to say. When I was younger, I could bounce back from a job loss fairly easily because I have always had job skills in demand. As time has progressed though, it becomes more difficult to learn in-demand skills because things change so rapidly now in the workplace.
