I find that if I have even one drink that I will feel depressed or agitated the next day. I do not skip my meds when I have a drink. In fact, I never skip meds. I figure that if I am planning to have a drink, that I have to plan for the next day. Therefore I drink very rarely. It is kind of like the emotional hangover of doom, so I try to avoid it. Since I don't have a drinking problem, I do it once in a while.
You have said that you think you have a drinking problem on the weekends. You can be considered an alcoholic if you are only drinking on weekends. If you have a therapist, you could discuss this wilth him or her. Maybe your T can set you up with a list of AA meetings or some other program to help you stop. Do you want to stop?
