I have had hearing loss since age 3. Now my hearing is really messed up and in crowds I fight to make out anything. Since I also am DID, this makes it worse. Since I struggle to hear it is easy for me to lose focus and dissociate off into someone else. This has greatly affected my everyday life. I am 51. I sometimes end up in a place that I don't know how I got there. When I travel, I haft to trick my brain and listen to an audio story that is interesting and eat constantly (this keeps me focused).

I don't think that the dissociation caused your did but it inhances it greatly - just like me. Since 3, I have learned to escape life and switch off and now it is really hard cause I switch constantly - so much so that a normal job is impossible. I am planning on filinf dissabliity.
