I would maybe make sure you show up a couple minutes late? :-) Or, I'd borrow an umbrella and check out the neighborhood within walking distance, see if there's a pub or something where I could get a lunch and then walk or get a second ride to her door? Train station? Have you figured out how you're getting out of there/home?
