If I was able to REALLY talk to her, I'd be ok with it. But if she was some stodgy, uncommunicative old bat, I wouldn't like it at all ! If you're having trouble with her, tell the front desk that you aren't "comfortable' with her, and you'd prefer to see the doctor. And tell them why -- i.e. you can't talk to her, she's mean, etc. They should let you see the doc then. If they DON'T, then I'd ask for my file, and tell them I'm going to someone else! THAT ought to change things in a hurry!  You have to be your own advocate. Take someone with you if you don't feel comfortable doing this.
