However, although the site owner can wax eloquently about the 'principles' of providing these videos online, I do agree with the sentiment that this is likely a cover up for the depravity of a substantial portion of the site's users. I hate to say it, but I got back to investigating the site....again....and a lot of these comments are just sick. Much of these comments involved excitement or humor over the level of gore in the videos/photos. Furthermore, I think if any of you read how demeaning and hateful the 'articles' written about suicides are, you'd agree that these articles were not written simply to convey 'the truth.' In fact, a lot of comments involved sheer derision of the victims portrayed, including caption contests. The only truth about society here may be how easily we can overlook the misfortune of others.
I don't think this necessarily a good argument on the owner's behalf. Saying that he would take the video down if the victims family asked him to would be like an individual saying that they would delete the pirated music on their computer if the song writers asked them, individually, to do so. I'm sure that the victim's family would be already disapproving over this material being posted, but that doesn't mean they know where it's being posted.

I completely agree with your very good points. Agree the owner is grasping to find ways to justify why he posted this and other content. I have a big problem with the comments too, the lack of empathy and jovial mood when its super gory. Honestly never knew people could be so cruel. Also don't know why a person would tape themselves committing suicide - they probably didn't realize people would actually make fun and critique it. Being online seems to reveal the bowels of society, we normally would see or hear. I bet these people seem like the normal Joe and Jane IRL. Its really very sad and scary. Teaching empathy starts very young and I'm happy I've instilled this in my children.
