Google gives you results based on previous searches and results. I watched an interesting talk on this subject a year or so ago. That's why you can't tell someone "do a google search on X" and the first hit will be "Y." Even the types of results you get vary. Some people will be given videos, for example, and others won't.
Of course this was before the last big change.
