Yes, I have tried that option. I am more or less comfortable with the text size now but find the text to be smudged. It is not only web pages but word applications etc too. I don't know if that makes sense. Perhaps it is supposed to look like that but I somehow don't think so.

The 1280x1024 pulls everything into a tiny box in the middle of my screen.

I have also adjuted and played around with all the settings on the actual monitor.
