I'm assuming that since you've played around with the DPI setting that you've already looked into these options but have you changed/played around with the Screen Refresh Rate (Hertz)? or have you looked into the Hardware Acceleration options?

It could be that you're just not used to it, or glare (or is that lack of glare) on that type of monitor.
