I just got a note from the editor in chief saying they aren't filling any vacancies right now because they're "reviewing their operations." They got taken over by the local daily, aka the 800-lb. gorilla, and the gorilla has been spring cleaning. I had heard that people were getting canned left and right, but didn't know it was going to spread to the newsroom.
