Yeah, I looked at different sites offering custom made weighted blankets, and took the plunge and ordered a twin sized 20 # one for myself. I know I'll love this. I can ill afford this, but the benefits will be worth it! I used to have a very heavy pillow, an antique thing that was pretty raunchy, but I used it to put over my head at night to sleep! It was so heavy, but I could actually HEAR things crawling around inside it! I miss it...the weight, not the sounds!. Also, I have a box of the poly beads, and I want to make two weighted blankets for my twin grandsons, who will be visiting me from overseas next week. One of the twins has ADHD, and learning problems, and the other, interestingly, loves the poly bead toys I have made for them, carrying them around like a security blanket. This will be my project for the coming week, making the blankets. There are all sorts of directions for making the weighted blankets online, some of them kind of weird, like using peas or modeling clay, but I would want to make something washable, and the poly beads are the correct material, esp. if you want to make something lasting and washable. Poly beads are not that expensive, available on Ebay for not so much $.
Thanks for this!
