I shouldn't advocate lying, but sometimes it's best... I'm assuming the city is big, and you won't end up working with or near your mother. If not pls discard... Your pdoc could also be your T. And you see her near work,its close enough to walk to,and you either get time off work, or 'work' in your time missed having coffee (don't know about canadian labour law so it depends) after which she picks you up...
