I had a friend that found a hot water bottle or heated pad helped, i think she did eventually go onto the mini pill/single hormone bc pill. I have also heard that some gentle exercises can help so again i'd ask you doctor or specialist for advise. Also asking the school nurse for advise may go in your favour as it will help with the schools understanding of you time off. Perhaps another avenue would be to see it there is a specific online help group and or forum for woman who suffer from the condiction, as i believe it's actually quite a common problem.
