dr oz has a free clinic in chicago so i am sure some states may have free clinics, but i do not live in those other states. i remember in the 90s, clinics were free and if you were able to pay for the services then you had that option. if you had no income and couldn't pay for any services, they (the clinic) still took you anyway without a form of payment! so, now, it isn't like that anymore. if you are unemployed, how is a person suppose to take care of their health with no income? how does that work?
anyway, id rather die than to ask my parents for the money. i can't count how many times on my fingers of asking for money on reasonable situations. they would ask such stupid questions when i am explaining to them in a normal manner and they look sit there, ask the same stupid questions like talking to a mentally challenged person who isn't capable of speaking or hearing and you had to communicate by nonverbal (no offense) and did't mean that in a mean way.
i was lucky if i was able to get the money for the reasonable situation. wanna know what my parents told me for these kinds of reasonable situations? they said "why cant your school (this was in high school and college) pay for xyz? how come your doctor or the hospital (hospital in 05 when i had strep throat and was under their health insurance my mom had to pay the $200 remainder bill didnt ask her) pay xyz? how come our gov can not pay for your xyz? the list goes on and on and on! it was really stupid what was coming out of their mouths.
wanna know what my parents said about me wanting mental services when i was in high school? they said "u don't need mental health services, you're just saying that because you want attention or can not have your way etc." they never evaluated our mental health anyway it was "phase" to them and to "get over it." i called the behavioral service and there is no copayment i am not sure on the clinics i found under their website. so, you still think i should ask my parents?
my parents said "black people don't need mental health services. we are capable of making our own decisions and helping ourselves. we don't need people or 'the man' to tell us how to live our lives in a healthy way!" yep, boy do i hear that daily! my parents never helped their kids and still dont today, i could have a serious illness and die they wouldn't spend a dime on me to get me better. i wouldn't ask narcissus to help with mental services, although, they could use it themselves!
my parents aren't one of those parents who helps their kids with mental issues and make sure they get better healthy and live their lives. sorry, those are not and never be my parents! i don't wanna ask anybody, i am the one who wants to pay for these services myself! of course, my sister suggested i find free clinics and told her doesn't exist! she said nobody can not care for their health with no income as i said earlier.
as far as my parents are concern, they know i have "no insurance," and don't know anything about my state insurance from the state. i have no insurance but they said go to the doctors anyway and let them waive the payment i said to them that doesn't work that way!
