Squiggle, have you asked your therapist these questions? Maybe she thinks it would be harmful to you to see too much of her life. Or maybe she thinks it would be harmful to her, that she needs this degree of separateness and her privacy from clients. Would knowing her reason why help you accept her decision? Can you discuss with her? There was a time when my T had to back out of an agreement I thought we had had, and it helped me so much to have him thoroughly explain his decision. I learned he really had my best interests at heart, and I was quite touched.
