I find that it's a real dilemma. Do you exhaust yourself keeping up the facade? Then disappear whenever you can't maintain it? Or do you just warn people that sometimes the mask is going to have to come off and that they may not like what's underneath but that it just has to come off once in a while so you can breathe and recharge? I think everybody has a mask of some sort, maybe just not one quite so essential for survival. They might just understand on some level...
