Sometimes it helps when you can recognize that you are having an episode, and the extreme feelings are blown out of proportion for the situation. When you know what is going on, you have more power to be in control of your own actions. You can remind yourself that the bad feelings may be intense right now but they won't last and you will be okay if you can just wait it out.
