unless their parents know how to put filters and such on the computers, those children are going to explore the internet.

And parents should be watching when they do. When they can't watch their children, they should take away an essential part of the computer so the kids can't use it.

then...................there are parents who couldn't care less about protecting their children. what are we to do about those children?

If we find them, we take them away from their parents. Too many idiots have children. People need to learn about birth control and use it.

AND, of course we have parents who aren't anymore aware of the danger of the internet than my dog, Fayeroe.....do we not express ourselves about protecting those children? i bet that i have friends that have never heard of MySpace.com. bet my truck on it! there are people who do not watch the news or read the newspaper.

I agree, there are people who don't know about the dangers of the Internet, and some who don't know about MySpace.com. Maybe when people buy a computer, they should be required to take a class or something. People who don't read or watch the news or get any kind of information are stupid. You can't know everything, but you can know some things.

expressing our feelings here is NOT wrong. this goes back to the Dateline thread. there are people here who were abused in their childhood and we could be a little less adamant about knowing that EVERYTHING is the parent's fault and a little more discreet in what we say.

And who has said that EVERYTHING is the parents' fault. But most parents could do a lot more.
