I too am angry about a lot from my past, then when something in the now reminds me of it or the feelings of something come back, then frustration of that I am this way, and misunderstanding from others on either the subject or how I am due to some things... I agree Therapy probably would help with this.
I know one thing that helps me, that my ex-t and my S/O reminds me even now, IT Is OK for me to Be Angry-- I usually tend to lean towards the side of "angry= bad" due to how I perceived it when growing up-- I find it a negative thing, which I myself, need to find away to say- It is neither negative or positive, it is usually a warning sign to something-- either feeling unjust, misunderstood, etc.. then go from there on "what to do" if I can...
