Lots of seniors in my bldg. cannot wait till weekends and holidays are over. They are so lonely and bored. The week is spent going to the senior ctr with friends and doing activities but there is nothing for them other times.
For me I stay so busy during the week that the weekends are a blessing. I must think I actually still work!. I love Saturdays as I watch movies all day and clean the apartment. On Sunday I am off to church and then usually doing laundry or shopping in the afternoon. Sometimes you just have to get creative. There are a couple libraries here that are open Sundays as well so that also helps with lonliness and boredom..then there is always the mall for people watching.
Its amazing how much lonliness there is, even with people you would least suspect it!!
We have each other here...its not the same I know, but it certainly helps!
