whimsy, yes, holidays and weekends are lonely for me, too. I enjoy the time off but often find that I spend too much time inside my head which doesn't do me any good.

I was supposed to go to my parents' cabin today but with no ac in the car, a heat index of 113 and my parents' place doesn't have central air, well, I'm opting out. I know this may send me into a depression but it's better than me being crabby around my family due to the heat. at least I have everyone on PC to keep me company.
