I think it's a funding issue.

This is a real sore point for me, because if you tell people that the medical journals are being manipulated to get across Big Pharm's message, people just roll their eyes at you. But it's true. The research is funded by the drug companies. Then they don't publish it if it comes out unfavorable to their medication.

It's not surprising the drug produced by the company funding the study is usually the one which comes out best in any given study. Hmmm... I wonder why that would be?

So GSK uses misleading wording in their journal article - which apparently the journal's publisher can only stand by and weakly protest. Then they print off copies of this crap research/article and hand it out to doctors at a conference to bolster their sales. And, yes, people think if it's written in a medical journal it must be right.

But never fear. If their drug makes you sick, I'm sure they have another drug to treat that sickness.
