Hello.
Depression is the pits; finding help is also tough. There might be a support group in your community - search for the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance. You can also try pastoral counseling, if you are so inclined. I get help from my parish priest. He's not a psychologist, but he certainly knows how to listen and guide me in the right direction. For meds, you can ask you primary MD for something that they might be able to provide samples of. When I was on Lexapro I was in the same insurance problem area (still am) and my doctor provided me with sample packs. If there is a graduate school of psychology or social work in your area, they might have a clinic that provides free or sliding-scale fee services.
