I'm also in college with GAD and commute as well. I couldn't dorm because I would have had to get a shot (don't remember what for) but I also have a phobia of needles. I just stopped taking my meds because I don't really think they helped that much and I think they made me swing to the depressive side and the doctor wouldn't listen. Is your therapist at the college? Perhaps you can discuss the option of having a disability form sent out to your profs. It doesn't say what the problem is and is completely confidential. But it gives you the option, well depending on what you decide with the T, to take a break in the middle of the class if you need to without the prof wondering where your off to. There's different accommodations that can be worked out and even if you don't use them, it helps me a little to know that I have them as options.
