Hi again, Rolan. It's interesting in that just last night I watched "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" with my 21-year-old son. I think we both probably felt a bit awkward, but I mentioned that I recalled a rough sex scene in it. He said he didn't like to watch rape scenes and had even left the room when he was watching a movie with them with his friends.
Years ago I did talk to him about sex, though, along with my husband. I told the facts and about the wonderful aspects in it when it was associated with love. Perhaps the fact that you and your parents haven't discussed it makes a difference.
I was surprised that it had so many vivid sex scenes in it. I asked at one point if it might even be rated X! (although I happen to know that those movies are much more graphic.) We were both sitting in the dark, like in a movie theater, so maybe that helped.
In retrospect, though, I don't think I would have suggested we watch THAT particular movie together, though, had I known about all those scenes. I had read the book. I don't know why I assumed, in this day and age, that those scenes would either be left out or or more implied.
