Your shrink's office is the one place where it's okay NOT to say "Fine" when asked how you're doing. Polite society ends at the door---this is your time to talk about what's on your mind. You are paying this person to listen to your complaints, your struggles, your insights. And they
know you're not fine when you say "I'm fine," because if you really
were fine, you wouldn't need them.
Be honest. Your pdoc's heard it all before, and you owe it to yourself and your health to be as forthright as possible. Otherwise, you can't make the most of your appointment and are wasting money to boot.
Remember, the three people you should never lie to are: a) your attorney; b) your priest/pastor; and c) your doctor. Best of luck with tomorrow's appointment.
