Hi,

I'm not in a wheelchair so probably not qualified to post! I've only been in them for short periods of time. However, when I was in the hospital for a pain management program, we had a gentleman who used a wheelchair daily due to spina bifida. His #1 complaint was the seat cushioning, or lack thereof. It caused him a lot of pain. They were able to get him a custom-made seat cushion while he was in the program, one that provided much better padding and pressure relief. He said it did a lot to ease the pain he had been feeling. So that was one thing I learned! It sounded like in his case, a custom-made cushion really made a huge difference.

Take care,
ErinBear
