Hi ((((Jenn))))
It sounds as if you have a really good friend in Ray.
Perhaps instead of thinking of this as a date (Tony The Date), you can think of it as meeting a new friend or finding a new running partner (that comes with credentials).
(*you can even express that in your next text / email to Tony somehow, lightheartedly, to take some of the pressure off of the situation).
Other than the obvious (dating is totally nerve-wracking) and getting over a severly broken heart (does Tony know this?) ... is there something about Tony that makes you nervous / scared / is intimidating? Is he the same age?
(*My ex and I were friends for a year before I even knew he had a crush on me (*rather, that I NOTICED he had a crush on me). When we met, I had just lost my finance in a boating accident. I told him from the start that I wasn't ready yet for anything and I couldn't imagine EVER falling in love again.
hah! joke on me...We were together for almost 10 years! He was my best friend...first...it was a bonus that everything else happened)
Best wishes!
Rose
