We have clinical research at my work and it is very, very, very strict. The things that can get you rejected from studies can be from the tiniest details. I'm guessing that family history of BP is a disqualifying factor, but that's not your fault. I don't know how they determine criteria for studies, but sometimes you think it's just a bunch of monkies in a room spinning a "wheel of disqualifiers."

For example, we send people for the insulin studies and it's amazing what disqualifies them. Your diabetes control has to be exactly this bad, not better or worse, and you've had to have been diagnosed exactly this many years ago. If you ever took this medication in your life, then you're out. If you have heart problems or don't have heart problems, or you only have this heart problem but not that one... etc. etc. etc... >.> It's annoying sometimes.
