I strongly dislike the word 'deficit' and 'disorder'. For bipolar too, why do these things have to be called disorders? It is just people who think differently, learn differently, feel more intensely, experience more deeply. Why not just call it attention processing differencial? Sometimes we hyper-focus, that is not a deficit. We are known to be intelligent, with brains that hold a lot more info than the average.

The problem lies with our society, that we don't fit the specific mold that teachers expect. Most teachers dont understand the add kids because these teachers made it through the dysfunctional educational system just fine. I've had to fight hard for my kids' rights to be treated well at school and to try to get them an education. It's a messed up system. Ok, done ranting, good night Monkey
