I'm glad you survived too KC
Kind of all we can do, schools aren't designed to teach to kids with adhd - at least here in the States. I think they are learning more about how to teach adhd kids. But not impressed with the "education" they gave my 16 & 18 yr olds. Both have adhd and BP, and for years teachers called me in for meetings and I wound up feeling horrible about myself as a parent, like everything was messed up and my fault. But it didn't have to be like that, there were other families who donated more money to the school who had their children in the special ed program, getting a better education for their children with adhd because they knew their rights I suppose.
So that's what we do, we survive. My kids are wild and crazy, sometimes depressed, but so cool, so unique and I wouldn't want them any other way. Hopefully they'll get jobs someday!
