Hi Imaris... I know a bit about how you feel. I've always said "If you lose your sense of humor you are in Real Trouble". I never understood why I could not remember anything "Short Term", disorganized, easily overwhelmed, grumpy/exhausted at night... I was 43 when I was diagnosed with ADD.

I take generic Adderall (Non XR) 50mg per day. 20mg when I wake up at 5am, 20mg around 10am, then 10mg around 4pm. It takes some time to get the meds right, everyone is different, so tell your doc how you are feeling. Vyvanse is an XR, so maybe they need to up your doseage if it is not lasting. Adderall has changed my life and I have not had to keep increasing my dosage for the meds to keep working. I was afraid when I first got the diagnosis and knew stimulants would be prescribed. The doctor assured me that they would not make me into an addict.

Hang in there and keep your doctor in the know about how you are feeling
