Hm... for me, one might be, "I have to please everyone, because I cannot stop blaming myself if someone is unhappy with me." Or "I have to do everything well, because if I fail then everyone will know how useless I really am." Or "I have to make sure T doesn't know TOO much about me, because if he did he would stop loving me." Which I guess are all some variation of, "I have to appear to be lovable, because I don't think anyone would love the person I really am."
