I was in the military and had over 170 roommates within 8 different living arrangements. I didn't have a separate room or door to close to avoid the roommate(s). I only enjoyed living with 3 of those roommates.

My only advice is *respectfully* ignore your roommate. Be cordial, but don't give more than you are willing to give (which may be nothing). Unfortunately, you'll probably have to all the chores (which you'd still have to do if you lived alone). When your roommate drives you crazy, leave or go to sleep or read a book or focus on your stuff. Keep telling yourself, "I'm not responsible for her."
