because for me once i put someone on my ignore list its mean i dont want anything to do with them anymore, and if they wrote something on your page its really hard to not open the message and i think its useless to put them on ignore list since they still can see your activities here and give their comment *sigh*
A person can put someone on the ignore list. To not receive profile messages you can go to, Edit Options on the Control Panel - scroll down to Messaging and Notification and then down to Visitor Messaging. At the bottom of that box you'll see "Limit usage of Visitor Messages to Contacts and Moderators". The person you don't want visitor messaging you shouldn't be on your friend list. A person can also choose not to receive any visitor messages too.

I tend to be curious so I don't use the ignore feature but good to know its there is case someone becomes a problem.
