I need female advice.

Anyone take birth control to control the VERY BAD MOOD SWINGS that happen about a week prior to your period every month? It seems to always hit me and I'm always surprised when I'm a total basketcase. And this is even when I'm on antidepressants, I'm glad I'm on them or it would be worse. But with my pain and agony as well, seeing as my period is ridiculously short (which would be good IF it wasn't for my intense pain)...

I'm debating going on birth control. Now, way back in 2010 I was on progesterone-only pills for a brief time. They made my moods worse.

But I've been told that estrogen increases risk of blood clots. Is this true? I sit all day (wheelchair) so blood clots are a very bad thing for me to have.

Anyone got recommendations of drugs? I'm going to see my doctor sooner or later but I'd like an idea of what to ask for.
