Avidreader - I can't really afford cleaners either, but I know myself, that I'm not up to cleaning either physically or emotionally. This move has just wiped me out, and I was having a tough time coping to begin with.
The movers showed up at 10:30 and I was very happy with them. They were professional, fast and took great care handling all my furniture, they wrapped all the delicate and glass pieces in heavy cloths before moving. I went with them to the storage place, and did the rental paperwork, while they unloaded the truck. We were all finished by 3.
I then went and had a cold drink and surfed the web at Starbucks to rest and cool down, then headed back to my apartment to fill up a carload to bring to St. Clare's.
I'm meeting the cleaners tomorrow morning at 8:30 and I need to get there earlier, as I still have to clean out the fridge, but that won't take me long, as everything is just being tossed into garbage bags. I then have another carload to bring to St. Clare's.
My room at St. Clare's is a mess right now, as I have crates, and bags, and suitcases everywhere. I can't really organize until I put up my shelves. Not sure if I'll do that tonight or wait until tomorrow. I'm pretty exhausted.
I'll be so glad when tomorrow is done, and I can say goodbye to that apartment forever, and get on with my new life.
