Vyvanse should not be the first line of treatment for someone who is diagnosed with Bi-Polar and ADD. You should ask whoever prescribed the Vyvanse to change it to something like Strattera (Atomoxetine) or Wellbutrin (Bupropion). The reason why is that neither Strattera or Wellbutrin are stimulant medications, although can both be effective in treating ADHD. The danger with stimulant medications and Bi-Polar are that stimulant medications can cause mania in people without Bi-Polar and therefore are even worse when someone has Bi-Polar.
Vyvanese is stronger than Ritalin, although different drugs work differently for different people.
