Roe,

Sorry I haven't been around to hear about Misty until now. I am so glad that Misty had the strength to fight through the snake bite. I started reading the post....praying that by the end, it would be a good ending to read about. I am so relieved that everything went well & hopefully the residual damage won't be bad enough to need the surgery.

We have rattlers & the mojave greens here in California. There were many found at the ranch where I used to keep my horses. They would hide under the horses water buckets. I would also find many of the dead babies laying around where the ranch cats left them after killing them. I was very luck that my dogs didn't go near the live or dead ones...the venom of the dead babies is very lethal. Your post is making me aware that I am going to have to be very careful with all my dogs once we get moved to Kentucky in the near future. It doesn't seem like there is any place that is in the country that is safe from those harmful snake critters & probably many other critters that I don't know about yet.

It is such a blessing that Misty came through the bite so well....& It was such a relief to read that she is doing as well as she is. My prayers would have been here earlier had I been here to earlier. I hope that their behavior modification training will be successful....but don't think she will ever go after a snake again....unless it sneeks up on her without her knowing it.

Glad for the great outcome,
Debbie
