I know what you mean. Some people are really particular about their threads staying on track. I have to watch myself because I'm really likely to stray if I see an interesting option for a tangent. I try to keep in mind who gets offended and who is okay with it. If in doubt, or if I don't know the person well, then I do my best to stay on topic (but I don't always succeed)
