Ive only been in the chat room a hand full of times but my understanding is that the lobby is just how people enter the chat system, then you are supposed to go to other chat rooms, like when you go to the doctors you enter the building in the lobby, then after a bit you move on down to the right doctors room...
is there other rooms that you dont know about yes... members can make their own password protected chat rooms that can only be entered by people that know the password.
when I first came here I found its easier to first get to know people by posting and replying on the boards before trying the chat rooms, this way I had a starting point. most people are a bit Leary of new people and they dont know you need help if you dont speak up. most members dont willfully ignore someone new, they usually wait and let the new person be the one to reach out first so as not to scare the new one away.
try posting on the boards for a bit, and get to know people before using chat, after you get to know some people and they get to know you, chatting is / mat be much easier.
live chats? .....I thought all chats in the chat rooms was live meaning you are talking in real time right away with someone rather than how the boards work (posting and then you have to wait until others come on and see your post)
there are many live chats here..Doc John runs a weekly chat and members can make their own social groups and use the chat rooms for those and theres real time chats on mental disorders and other stuff like theres a chat for dissociative's.. there is a chat schedule posted that lets everyone know when the schedules chats are, its in the "calendar" on the blue bar at the top of the page.
