here in the USA Doctors have samples they give out to their patients that cannot afford the medication. They get these samples from the drug companies that manufacture the medication as a promotional thing. If they give physicians the sample the physicians give them out and prescribe that medication the drug company makes money because people are buying and using that medication.

if the medication cost more then you are on right now your doctor can set the prescription number of pills to match the cost your parents are already paying and then give your parents samples to make up the difference. My doctor has done that many times for me when I had to take a new medication.

Also if your parents are allowing your doctor to prescribe the medication that you are presently on then they will allow your doctor to prescribe a new medication and work with your doctor and phamacy on the financial end. They did it for this present medication so they will most likely do it for the next one.

no matter what medication a person is on be it for physical or mental problems no medication costs the same as each of the other medications on the market.

Phamacys have two different types of the same medication - generic and name brand. The medication is the same but without the name brand its cheeper. Kind of like nike sneakers are more expensive then the generic department store sneaker. they are the sneaker ,same style and durability but one sneaker has the name brand so the consumer has to pay more if its a name brand.

all your parents need to do to get the cheeper cost on your medication is to say they want generic.

and if a person can't pay cash for their medications there are also programs like state medical cards and other type of insurance companies and medication companies that help low income people get the medication that they need including some in which there is no cost to the person buying the medication.

Your parents most likely since they have had to buy you medication from time to time since you were born for physical or mental reasons so they probably already know and have used such community services and agencys to help take care of what you physically and mentally need. They are getting your present medication without a problem so the next one they will most likely also do with out a problem. Give your parents a chance and your doctor a chance - let them know that you are having a problem and you have been keeping quiet about it because you don't want to cause them more hardship financially and you might just find them telling you to let them worry about the finances and you take care of taking the medication and working in therapy and so on. Hang in there.
