I think it would be beneficial for those who are supporting a loved one with DID as they can ask questions and gain knowlege (as much as someone could without being DID) on what it's like for a person suffering with DID. They can see the struggles, the ups and downs. I think as long as they are not unvalidating it, or taking away from someones diagnosis or experience and as long as they are respectful kind and guarded on triggering things, that it would be ok.

I'd rather the world know more about DID, that way I didn't feel like a freak when I think about the diagnosis and that way I wouldn't have to continue to try to explain it to someone who has never heard of it, and no matter how many times I try to explain it, they never seem to understand. Increasing awareness and educating on it would be of great help to all of us imo
