I used to imagine myself hurting other people because I was bullied lalalala in high school and middle school. I used this to quell my anxiety because I was a lot smaller and unpopular. It was a way for me to deal with it.
I think you're experiencing anxiety because this is created by you. Hallucinations are generally not induced by thoughts. Honestly, the best way to get through it is to experience the anxiety and go through the motions of having that anxiety. It will feel a lot more terrible before it gets better, but who wants to really live in fear?
