I saw my primary dentist Friday. He took a full set of x-rays. The tooth in my upper jaw does have an abscess. He said he didn't see any other abscesses, but wrote a referral to the oral surgeon for a root canal of both the top and bottom abscesses. He also wants the surgeon to check out the other tooth that hurts as if it's abscessed. He put me back on antibiotics.
I asked him about having so many abscesses at once. He said that sometimes they come in clusters like this.
I have an appointment with the oral surgeon this Wednesday to get a root canal on the tooth on the bottom. I am going to call the office Monday to see if they can do the other one at the same time. Not crazy about having two root canals at the same time, but I want this to be over.
Gotta say abscessed teeth is an effective way of losing weight! I am limited to mushy food and don't have a lot of appetite. I've dropped 5 pounds in the last couple of weeks.
