Actually, 40 lbs is down to the upper limit of normal weight - not to the "ideal" weight. So it is not an overstatement.

Today the BMI is 30.64. If I manage to lose a few more pounds on Metformin, the BMI would be <30. And that would mean not obese but "just" overweight, that would be good.

I have seen such morbidly obese people at the grocery store today, both men and women, that I became a little ashamed. I am svelte in comparison yet I worry so much. I felt very very sorry for them.
