Hello lostandunsure, nice to meet you !
My opinion is that it's true, in Canada-as for my part-and in Europe as I've observed, mental health problems are not as well understood as we would like it to be by others, especially when we ourselves suffer from it.
I never talk about it to friends, except 1.
And when I try to talk about it to my parents, though they're quite intelligent people, they usually can't seem to respond anything.
But there is hope.
When I discored this Forum, and other Internet Forums in Canada and in France just a while ago, it gave me real comfort and hope. I hope it will help you also.
As for your med. dosage, don't hesitate to tell your doctor about it.
As for me, I got started on Paxil, then I had side-effects ; I told my psychiatrist, and then he switched me to Effexor, ajusted the dosage later on, and I'm ok now, though some diziness sometimes. But I feel way better than I ever was before I took antidepressants, back in 1999.
So my advice would be : tell your doctor if your med. does'nt seem to work.
Sincerely,
Starbuck
