Well, my experience with medication has been good. Luckily for me, it has worked for me well when I've tried it. I have made the mistake several times in my life of going off once I started feeling better. The depression/anxiety would always come back eventually, with the "good" periods getting shorter and shorter. I will no longer try to go off medication.

You probably know this, but medication can change your brain chemistry so you can feel better. If it did not help much before maybe it was just the wrong one? My experience also is that medication helped me take the edge off my depression so I could do better work in therapy. Now I think my MI has progressed and I need medication still but not necessarily therapy...

And if you could find a good counselor that would be great, but it sounds like you aren't having success there. Some people on here (not me unfortunately) may be able to offer advice on how to find a counselor. So I guess that's the long way of saying I would give meds a shot if you are having a lot of trouble with depression (or whatever MI you have...). Thanks for posting and I hope to keep hearing from you on here.
