Exercise is a natural way to increase serotonin levels - therefore making any human being, at times, experience an improvement in mood. It also causes a sense of accomplishment...both are, coincidentally, factors of which can instigate at least a hypomanic episode.
Simply put, I can see why it could possibly trigger mania. But I see that as no cause for concern or reason to stop exercising: it's healthy both physically and mentally.
Personally if I exercise, I enjoy the feeling of physical exhaustion. Mentally my mood improves and I get excited over the difference it will eventually make on the scales.
